Solatro
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
I love Solitaire but I hate losing. What if you could power up your cards to make the game easier to win?
Solatro is Klondike Solitaire with a few small tweaks:
- Adding a card to the Collection gains points equivalent to that card's rank.
- When you get enough points, you can upgrade one of your cards, and then start a new round.
- Upgrades add new ways to move and place cards.
Controls
You do everything with the mouse. Right click will move a card to the next available spot if there is a valid move for it to make.
Upgrade Reference
Since I didn't have time to make a proper tooltip UX, here's a reference for all of the upgrades in the game.

This Side Up - This card is face up at the start of the round

Easy Out - Can pull this card out of the draw pile at any time

macOS users please read!
Because this app is not notarized by apple (ie: I didn't pay $100/yr for the privilege of publishing a macOS app) you will get a warning saying the app is "Damaged and needs to be deleted" if you attempt to run it. This message is a lie. Here's how to get around it.
- Download the .dmg file
- Double click it
- Drag Solatro.app out of the .dmg (it doesn't matter where, your Desktop is fine)
- Right click Solatro.app and select Open Terminal at Folder.
- This will open a terminal window type exactly the following excluding the quotes: " xattr -cr . "
- Press Enter
- You may now close the Terminal window and double click Solatro.app as normal.

It has a slow start but after a while it got pretty fun! Once I hit like 8-10 level and got the ropes of each upgrade then at some point I stopped restarting the levels because the upgrades on the cards got dense enough to sort out most of the problems.
I've got quite far, I'm at level 26 rn and I didn't have to restart for a handful of levels now. But one upgrade in my opinion is pretty busted, the Suits Stacker. I took it every time it appeared and put it on the highest cards I could choose(highest because I had a problem with moving the kings around) and now it no longer looks like solitaire. I just sandwich other not upgraded cards of the same suit between the upgraded ones and create the "cursed stack" that can be easily manipulated and expanded even further with other suits.
My second favourite upgrade would be the Easy In but it still is not as powerful as the Suits Stacker.
So its pretty fun and relaxing to play in the off time, the only things I wished for while playing is some sort of hover info or a list of symbols of each upgrade since it took me a while to start recognizing all of them, also a way to take back a card could be useful as it sometimes just yoinked something I needed and an option to silence the music loop.
Thanks so much for playing! I appreciate the feedback. I definitely wanted to add a tooltip system but I was struggling to get it to work. I agree it’s essential for remembering what the upgrades do.
And you’re absolutely right Suit Stacker is busted hahaha.
Ay, Thanks for making the game! Really works as a good time killer.
And maybe the upgrade symbols and what they do could added on the games itch io page? As a reference for other/future players who didn't memorize them yet.
But also, do you plan on updating it after the jam?
